Digital X-Rays

Hyde Park Pediatric Dentistry is proud to offer the most advanced dental technology available for diagnosing dental decay, digital dental x-rays. Our practice is dedicated to providing your child with the safest and most convenient treatment options available.

Is a digital X-ray really safer?

Reducing x-ray exposure is important to the overall health and safety of your children (our patients). The amount of radiation used in dental X-rays is very small, but we understand that the effects are cumulative. Digital X-rays have been shown to reduce your child’s exposure to radiation by up to 80 percent!

What are the advantages of digital X-rays?

  • In order to ensure your child is comfortable, we have the smallest x-ray sensors available. These sensors have no sharp edges, unlike conventional radiographs.
  • Digital x-rays can be viewed immediately, thereby greatly reducing the appointment time.
  • The digital images can be enlarged and manipulated, giving the doctor a clear, more detailed look at your child’s teeth.
  • These images can be easily shared with the parents, thereby helping the parent understand the need for treatment.
  • We do not need harmful chemicals to process the films.

Our practice is focused on making your child’s dental experience as comfortable and safe for the patients and parents as possible. We follow the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s recommendations for x-ray timing and exposure and use lead aprons while taking radiographs. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our x-ray technology before or during your child’s appointment.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
